Your Hair Transplant plan is tailored to your unique needs. Your package will be determined by Dr Alam during a full assessment.

We quote in grafts, not hairs.

Each graft roughly contains between 1 – 4 hairs, and in some cases more. At HTA, we use single-hair grafts in the hairline to create a soft, natural-looking result. Multi-hair grafts are strategically placed behind the hairline to build density and volume. This method ensures both precision and fullness, giving you results that look natural from every angle.

WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY ABOUT US

Real Results – Real Reviews

“I had my transplant completed in August 2017 and I’m extremely happy with my results. It has literally changed how I feel about myself. Losing hair as a guy is a huge deal and blow to self-esteem. I did a great deal of research around finding a surgeon over the course of a couple of years, and even considered going abroad, but after meeting with Dr Alam and the team to discuss the procedure and ask multiple questions, I felt reassured that I was with the right surgeon.

The whole team were extremely friendly and made me feel at ease. I would recommend at least having a consultation with these guys and see how you feel after. My procedure was certainly worth it. Highly recommend.”

“A year and four months ago, I took the plunge and visited Hair Transplant Australia for a hair transplant. I was really nervous and unsure how it would turn out. Dr Alam, Zoe, and the team were fantastic. It was a big day, and there was a clear process to follow.

To be honest, I was worried—what if the hair didn’t grow? What if I’d spent all this money for little or no results?

But as you can see from the images I’ve attached, the proof is in the pudding. Lately, I’ve been getting so many comments from people who know me but don’t recognise me – and they all say how great my hair looks!

As a child, I had a thick head of hair and loved it. Over time, I watched it slowly recede and thought that was the end of the road—until this procedure. Now, I talk openly about the process with others and couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

I have friends who’ve considered going overseas for a transplant. Sure, it’s an option—but many of them have faced issues or ended up with results that didn’t look as good. In fact, one of those friends ended up seeing Dr Alam after being disappointed with their overseas results—and it was clear the difference in quality.

I guess you get what you pay for.

If you’re considering a hair transplant, I can honestly say my experience has been incredible. 16 months in and it’s still getting thicker. The results have had a huge impact on my confidence and my life.

Thank you again to the team!”

“The Team at Hair Transplant Australia are incredible. At the young age of 20 I was experiencing hair loss and was quite concerned for the future of my hair, all the staff at HTA were able to put my fears to rest by offering amazing support by giving me a super affordable price for a one day, pain free operation. All staff were very kind and helpful with any questions regarding the procedure. I would recommend them to anybody interested in getting a hair transplant as the results are fantastic and my whole experience was friendly and professional. Good work everyone!”

HOW IT WORKS

The HTA Difference

At our clinic, we use a 0.8mm punch, one of the smallest punch sizes available for FUE hair transplants, allowing for more precise extractions and minimal trauma to the donor area. Dr Alam extracts the grafts over a large area (the back and sides of the head), which does not leave the donor area too compromised in any specific area.  Dr Alam then uses the INRUT pen to implant the multiple-hair grafts into the recipient area, creating a very thick and dense result. The hairline is created by using manual forceps, which sets us apart from most other clinics. By implanting the hairline manually, we’re able to strategically place single-hair grafts extremely close together, achieving natural-looking density in the most visually critical area of the transplant. Once the sites are made by Dr Alam, Zoe and Jayde, Dr Alam’s senior technicians, take over the implantation of the hairline. With over several years of experience working directly with Dr Alam, they are experts in creating natural, refined results with every procedure. This collaborative approach sets a new standard in hair restoration.
Phase 1
Design & Planning
We measure and map your hairline to suit your facial structure and age — ensuring a natural, personalised result.
Phase 2
Extraction
Using cutting-edge Japanese technology, grafts are gently removed using a 0.8mm punch, allowing for precision and minimal trauma to the donor area.
Phase 3
Site Making
Dr Alam creates all sites using a 19g needle, following natural angles and depth for seamless, realistic growth.
Phase 4
Implanting
Hairline grafts are placed by Zoe and Jayde using angled forceps. Dr Alam uses the INRUT implanter to complete the rest with precision.
Phase 5
Final Result
Final results are seen by 12 months and beyond, with full density and natural flow.
Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that choosing a Hair Transplant clinic is a personal and informed decision. below we’ve answered some of our most frequently asked questions to help guide you with clarity, confidence, and care.

Is the procedure painful?

Most patients experience little to no discomfort during the procedure. We administer local anaesthetic to the areas to ensure that your experience is as pain-free as possible. Local anaesthetic also means our patients are fully awake and concious during the procedure and able to ask questions and communicate with us throughout.

Will my hairline look natural?

Absolutely, our technique is designed to replicate the natural growth pattern of your native hair. The hairline sites are made by Dr Alam where he decides the depth, angle and pattern, the grafts are then meticulously placed with precsion and artistry to ensure a seamless, undetectable result.

How long is the recovery time?

Recovery time for a Hair Transplant is typically 2 weeks of downtime. However, you can resume regular, light activities after 3 days. If you work an office job or from home, you can safely return to work a few days after your procedure. If you work outdoors or a in a physically demanding job, you will require 2 weeks off work.

Do I have to take hairloss medication after the procedure?

While it’s not mandatory to take hair loss medication after a transplant, it’s highly recommended if you want to protect your investment and maintain your results long-term. A hair transplant only moves your existing healthy follicles—it doesn’t stop further hair loss of your native, non-transplanted hair. Without ongoing treatment, you may continue to lose hair around the transplant area, which can affect the overall appearance over time.

Most clients are prescribed medications like Finasteride or Minoxidil, which help slow or prevent further loss by supporting hair growth and follicle health. But if you’re someone who prefers a more natural alternative, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is a great option. PRP uses your own blood to stimulate growth factors in the scalp, encouraging stronger, healthier hair growth and reducing shedding—without the use of pharmaceuticals.

We can help tailor a post-op plan that suits your lifestyle, goals, and preferences—whether that’s medication, PRP, or a combination of both.

Will I experience shedding after the procedure?

Yes — this is completely normal. Within the first 2–4 weeks, the transplanted hairs will typically shed, but don’t worry — the follicles remain in place under the skin. After this “shedding phase,” the new hairs begin growing in stronger and more permanently over the next few months.

Will the transplanted hair fall out again?

No — transplanted hair is taken from the donor area (usually the back or sides of the scalp), which is genetically resistant to DHT. Once transplanted, these follicles behave as they would in their original location, meaning the hair won’t fall out again the way native thinning hair might. It’s considered permanent — but ongoing hair loss in untreated areas can still happen.

What’s the difference between FUE and FUT hair transplants?

– FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction):
Individual hair follicles are removed one by one from the donor area, leaving tiny dot-like scars. It’s minimally invasive, has a faster recovery, and is ideal for shorter hairstyles.
– FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation):
A thin strip of scalp is removed from the donor area, and the follicles are then extracted from that strip. This method can yield more grafts in one session but leaves a linear scar and has a slightly longer recovery time.
