Before surgery, Dr Alam personally consults with each patient to ensure the hairline and overall design aligns with both anatomical precsion and individual expectations. Every angle and proprtion is carefully measured and refined, with multiple checks to confirm balance and symemetry.

On the day of your procedure, your hair will be trimmed short and the area will be thoroughly disinfected. While some clinics may avoid shaving to appeal cosmetically, at Hair Transplant Australia we prioritise surgical cleanliness and infection control as a non-negotiable part of our medical standard.

During the extraction phase, Dr Alam uses cutting-edge Japanese technology to carefully remove individual grafts from the donor area – typically located at the back and sides of the scalp, where hair is genetically permanent and most resistant to thinning. Each graft is delicately removed using a fine, specialised 0.8mm punch, creating tiny circular incisions that are barely visible to the eye.

This minimally invasive technique promotes quick healing, reduced discomfort, and no linear scarring, allowing most patients to return to regular light duties shortly after their procedure.

During this phase, Dr Alam creates tiny recipient sites in the area where the grafts will be placed for the hairline. These sites are designed with precision to ensure the correct angle, direction and depth. Dr Alam uses a 19g needle placed into a depth controller that he uses to hand craft each individual site.

Our senior implant technicians, Zoe and Jayde, begin the implantation process by carefully placing single hair grafts into the hairline incisions created by Dr Alam using angled forceps. This meticulous technique ensures natural density and alignment at the front of the scalp.

Once the hairline is complete Dr Alam takes over using the INRUT Implanter to perform the remainder of the transplant, ensuring to follow the correct angles and direction of the natural flow of the existing hair. The INRUT Implanter is a multi-rotating device designed to implant follicles directly into the scalp.

Manual implantation is ideal for densely packed single hair grafts at the hairline, helping to create a refined, natural appearance with no visible gaps. The INURT Implanter, on the other hand, offers speed and precision—making it the preferred choice for implanting grafts into larger recipient areas while maintaining density and control.

By 12 months post procedure, most patients will see their final results fully established. The transplanted follicles will have completed the full growth cycle, with visible density and natural blending into the pre-existing hair. Any initial shedding or texture changes experienced in the recovery period will have stabilised, allowing you to confidently cut and style your hair as desired.
